First Technical Course
This first technical course will deal with the core of the training programme, since it will focus on SC and BC-based intelligent system design to solve real-world MI problems. A detailed summary of real-world applications will be taught by different experts from the network participants and associated partners, including topics such as image reconstruction in MI modalities, filtering and processing of medical images, segmentation and feature extraction in MI, range and multimodal IR.
It will be held in the facilities of the European Centre for Soft Computing in Mieres, Spain, in July 4-8th, 2011.
Syllabus for this first technical course:

Application (Closed):
Master Students, Ph. D. students, Post-Docs, both senior and young researchers, and academic/industrial professionals are encouraged to register. We also particularly encourage women to attend to the course. There are 16 available vacancies, and the selected applicants will receive a grant to support the travel and accommodation expenses. Should you be interested in some of these 16 vacancies, send your CV to registration@mibisoc-itn.eu before May the 31st. The selected applicants will be notificied by e-mail the 3rd of June 2011.
Poster submission (Closed):
To receive the grant it will be necessary to attend to the whole course and to present a poster. This poster has to be related with each participant’s experience or research in the field of medical imaging (recommended dimensions for the poster 90x70cm). An electronical version of the poster has to be sent by e-mail to registration@mibisoc-itn.eu before 26th of June 2011. The poster session will take place on Tuesday the 5th at 17:30
Accommodation:
The course will take place in Mieres (Asturias), a small town located in the North of Spain, in a former mining area, being held at the facilities of the European Centre for Soft Computing, sited in the Research Building of the University of Oviedo in Mieres.
