The Foundation for the Advancement of Soft Computing is a private foundation promoted by CajAstur, the Principality of Asturias Government, and the Institute for coal Mining Restructuring and alternative development in Mining Regions of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.
The Foundation is located in Mieres (Asturias), and is guided by a Board of Trustees which consists of representatives of the promoter entities, as well as of the trade unions and the University of Oviedo.
The main objective of this Foundation is the creation and development of a scientific and technological research centre, The European Centre for Soft Computing, with the purpose of serving as a worldwide guideline in the Soft Computing research and application.
The scientific activities of the Foundation are focused on the ECSC and are guided by a Scientific Committee.
