Biography:
Wolfgang Trutschnig received both his M.Sc. in Mathematics and his Ph.D. in Mathematics (with emphasis in Statistics) from the Vienna University of Technology. During his Ph.D. studies he worked at the Statistics Department of the National Bank of Austria. In 2006 he was awarded the prize for dissertations in mathematical statistics from the Austrian Statistical Society. After his Ph.D. he worked as postdoc-researcher at the Institute for Statistics and Probability Theory at the Vienna University of Technology.
He has publications in journals, books and conferences proceedings. During the last years he has also worked on various applied statistical projects for companies, mainly in the private sector. His current research interests include unifying concepts for probability and imprecision (in particular imprecise random variables, density estimation for imprecise data and fuzzy-valued probabilities) as well as regression models based on imprecise information and the analysis of dependencies between imprecise random variables.
